Experimental Study on the Effect of Sopoong-Tang and Kami-Sopoong-Tang to the Induced Hypercholesteremic Rabbit

Abstract
|
|
|
The therapeutic effect of Sopoong-Tang and Kami-Sopoong-Tang on the lipid metabolism in Serum (Total cholesterol, Triglyceride, Phospholipid, Free cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol) of cholesterol pretreated rabbits was studied.
The obtained results are summarized as follows:
1. The level of serum total cholesterol was decreased from the 20th day and it showed typical significant value on the 35th day after the administration of the Sopoong-Tang and Kami-Sopoong-Tang.
2. The level of serum triglyseride was decreased from the 20th day and it showed statistical value on the 25th, 30th and 35th day. Kami-Sopoong-Tang group were shown slightly better than the Sopoong-Tang group.
3. The level of serum phospholipid was decreased from the 20th day and it showed statistical value on the 25th, 30th and 35th day.
4. In the case of serum free cholesterol was decreased the 25th day in the control group, but the Sopoong-Tang and Kami-Sopoong-Tang were decreased from the 20th day Kami-Sopoong-Tang group showed typical significant value on the 30th and 35th day.
5. The level of serum HDL-cholesterol was decreased from the 20th day and it showed statistical value on the all administrated days.
According to the above experimental results Sopoong-Tang and Kami-Sopoong-Tang are assumed to have a curative effect against the arteriosclerosis and the effect of Kami Sopoong-Tang is slightly better than that of the Sopoong-Tang.
